Driving

What you need to know if you plan to come by car to Iași or rent one here.

Iași’s traffic is quite busy, especially during weekdays in the morning (8-10 AM) and evening (5-7 PM), so you might want to avoid those time intervals if you need to get somewhere fast. Weekends are perfect for driving though and parking spots are more easily available.

Park and Ride

The airport has a parking lot where you can leave your car. You can check out the pricing and details here. You can only try on of the privately owned car parks like Sky Rent & Park.

Parking in the city

If you want to park in the city, most parking lots are owned by city hall and the cost is in the range of 1 Euro (5 Lei) per hour, which you can pay either at the meter next to the exit or at the designated person who will come to you when you leave. Otherwise parking is allowed on the street next to the sidewalks but please follow the street signs to make sure you don’t park illegally.

Park and Ride

There are many charging stations for electrical cars: EVConnect, Virta and Renovatio. Take a look at the map below to find their locations.

If you don’t necessarily want to drive around, you can check out Iași’s taxis and ride sharing options here.
