This guide takes you through some of the most interesting spots in hidden areas around Iași. Some are unconventional spaces where many artists contribute, others are unique canvases that belong to one or two artists. In the end, this kind of quest lets you discover the less visited areas of Iași.
The first two spots you have to go to are The Gathering and InZIDerabilii.
The Gathering is a former, large furniture factory where a 4 year industrial revitalization project took place. The project was carried out by Hubrica, in collaboration with Hala Fix and Rockanotherworld. You’ll see a lot of artists displaying there. For a full list, check the details in the list below.
InZIDerabilii is a touching urban project initiated by the artist Harcea Pacea. The artworks stand on a 400 metres long wall, built in the 90’s, that separates a pour neighborhood nicknamed Dallas. The project promotes tolerance and social cohesion. The children walk on top of the wall to shorten their distance to school.
Solidarity through creativity is the largest wall mural in Iași, carried out within the Urban RegenerARTe project of the Artipic Association. It’s a remembrance piece for engineer Virgil Săhleanu, the union leader assassinated in 2000 because of his fight for the justice of the workers of the Tepro Iaşi factory.
Solicitudine is the work of Harcea Pacea, a message of hope and solidarity for the medical staff during the toughest time period in the Covid-19 pandemic.
